Plaque dedicated to the 6th Airborne Division.​

​The Parachute Regiment figure was modelled on Corporal Howard Elliott, the inscription on the plaque reading, ‘To the Glory of God and in memory of all ranks of the Airborne Forces and Special Air Service who fell in the Second World War 1939-1945. These were mighty men of valour.’

This memorial has been erected in memory of the soldiers from the British 6th Airborne Division who died during the Battle of Bréville-les-Monts (12-13 June 1944)

6th BRITISH AIRBORNE DIVISION IN MEMORY OF THE INHABITANTS OF BREVILLE WHO DIED IN 1944 AND ALSO TO THE MEN OF THE 12TH YORKSHIRE PARACHUTE BATTALION, THE 12TH BATTALION THE DEVONSHIRE REGIMENT AND OTHER DETACHMENTS WHO ON THE EVENING OF 12 JUNE 1944 ASSAULTED BREVILLE THROUGH THE 1st COMMANDO BRIGADE POSITIONS FROM THE DIRECTION OF AMFREVILLE AND DROVE OUT THE GERMAN FORCE 162 MEN OF THE DIVISION DIED. THEY LIE IN THE RANVILLE MILITARY CEMETERY

First Special Service Force (FSSF) Plaque- Rome

The marker is a plaque mounted to the Roman era wall, just 10 feet above the ground next to three other commemorative plaques.

A white marble inscribed plaque about 3 feet high by 5 feet long.

1st Regiment, FSSF, Monte La Defensa, Ridge 368 Marker

Behind a trail sign off the trail under trees between an ex-German Machine gun position and up a narrow ridgeline on a pile of boulders.
-
The marker is a black metal panel (about 2 ft by 2 ft) with silver inscription. The First Special Service Force (FSSF) symbol is in the bottom right of the plaque.

Hill 720 – First Special Service Force Marker

Upon arriving in the park with a view over the valley below, Hill 720 will be to the right, and the marker will be to the left up the hill in a rocky field about 30 meters from the parking area. Altitude 720 meters.

The marker remembers those who gave their lives fighting with the First Special Service Force (FSSF). The marker is specifically located on and Hill 720
-
the western end of Monte Sammucro (1205 m) which the FSSF took on Christmas Day 1943.

The plaque is located at the top of the left wall in the Comune entryway.

The town of Mignano Montelungo lays in the heart of the Mignano gap - a narrow point along route SS 6 where the Germans built the defensive Bernhardt (also called the Reinhard) line through the surrounding mountains.
