54th ANNUAL FALLEN JUMPER CEREMONY CFB PETAWAWA 8 MAY 2022.
Each year a memorial service is held in CFB Petawawa to commemorate the tragic loss of seven paratroopers from 2 Signals Squadron and 1 RCR who drowned in the Ottawa River near Wegner Point on 8 May 1968 during a parachute drop on a military training exercise.
The ceremony is organized by 2 CMBG HQ & Sigs Squadron and will be conducted this year at the Fallen Jumper memorial cairn CFB Petawawa commencing at 11:00 am 8 May 2022. Spectators are welcome and should arrive starting at 10:00 am but before 10:40. Dress for spectators is DEU 1A with medals for CAF members and for CAFA members regimental blazer, tie, maroon beret and medals.
